Starting from the beginning of new millennium Golden Tulip Hospitality Group has grown 40% and continues to develop. Comparing with 1999 when Golden Tulip Hospitality Group consolidated 166 hotels, in 2009 Golden Tulip banners were waving over 230 hotels worldwide.
The purchase of Golden Tulip Hospitality Group by Starwood Capital Group, the global real estate investment company, was concluded in August 2009. Apart from Golden Tulip Starwood Capital Group owns Louvre Hotels with its 856 hotels in 9 European countries and Concorde Hotels & Resorts with its 30 luxurious hotels in 13 countries all over the world.
By acquiring Golden Tulip, the hotel group of Starwood Capital with its 1100 properties became one of the 10 largest hotel groups in the world.
